Me & Bluebells

I have to confess, bluebells are my all time favourite flowers, and for some reason I have often been asked, “Why Bluebells?”.

Quite simply, they are just beautiful. When I first arrived in Ireland, aged 6, (I was born in New York) we stayed at my grandparents house in the beautiful country side of Co Tyrone, with it’s sweet rolling hills.

It was about May time, and right beside my Grandmother’s house was a beautiful glade covered in bluebells! It looked like a home fit for fairys, and I often spent long hours searching for fairys amounst the ferns, mosses and the bluebells. I never did find any bluebells

The Blue Bell

The blue bell is the sweetest flower
         That waves in summer air
Its blossoms have the mightiest power
         To soothe my spirit’s care

I never did find any fairys, but that was because I made too much noise in my searching, or so my Gran said. I started making clothes in May 2007, just when the bluebells were in full bloom at Portglenone Forest, not far from where I live now.  So Thinking up a name for my business was not difficult.  After a few false starts, I finally opened for business at Redux NW where my main shop is still.  I have a small outlet at Grafton Plaza, a smaller one at Second Shores, equestrian items at Wild Mustangs and at Carriage House in Eyre.
